The apartment, primarily used as a pied-à-terre for frequent travelers, had previously undergone a modern renovation but lacked a cohesive design.

After removing the existing dated furniture, Lau retained the white marble floors but covered the stark white walls and columns with roman clay. A visit to the new York Design Center yielded three key pieces that would define the project’s aesthetic: a Lindsey Adelman Paradise chandelier and a pair of Wendell Castle desk chairs.
“The client is very creative and loves masked parties, and I thought the blown glass chandelier was perfect,” Lau said. The dining chairs, designed circa 1975 for the Gannett company, added a unique and original touch.
