People’s Party Elects New Representatives Amidst Ke Wenzhe‘s Absence

Taipei,‍ Taiwan – The ‍People’s Party held its 3rd party representative election on October 31st, selecting 111 representatives across Taiwan. This election marked a significant moment for the party, as ⁣it was the first since its founding without ⁢the participation⁤ of Chairman Ke Wenzhe, who is currently detained and barred from attending meetings due to his involvement in the Beijing Capital City case.

Voting took place online from 9 am to 4 pm, with⁣ many‌ polls experiencing delays of over two hours.

Several familiar faces were ‍re-elected, including Ke Meilan and former taipei City Communications Director Liu Ying. Notably,Zeng Yanji,who previously ran for Taoyuan ​City Council as⁣ a KMT candidate ⁤in 2022,and Zhu Guokang,who composed Ke Wenzhe’s ‍popular campaign song “Steady Walk,” were also elected for a third term.

Zeng Yanji’s ⁢election comes after a tumultuous period where he publicly clashed with the KMT, even ‌accusing fellow KMT councilor zhong Xiaoping of violence. ‍Zhu Guokang,‍ whose song resonated deeply with Ke Wenzhe’s supporters, is joining the party’s‌ internal structure for the first time.

The election also saw the rise of new figures, such as ⁣Wang Guanjun, president of the Chiai friends of Taiwanese philosophers Association, who was elected as a Chiai City Party representative.

The Election Committee will submit the‍ results to the Central Committee on november 11th.‌ after⁤ confirmation and approval, the official list of party members and representatives will ⁢be announced.

People’s Party Navigates Uncharted Waters Amidst Ke Wenzhe’s Absence

Taipei, Taiwan ​- in‍ a pivotal moment for Taiwan’s political landscape, the People’s Party held its 3rd party representative election on October 31st, marking a meaningful shift as it was the first since the party’s founding without the direct involvement of its chairman, Ke⁤ Wenzhe. ​ Ke,currently detained and barred from ​party activities due⁤ to his entanglement in ⁣the Beijing Capital city case,was notably absent from the proceedings.

Despite Ke’s absence, ​the election saw a mix of familiar faces ⁤and new entrants vying for depiction across Taiwan.‌ Online voting, taking ​place‍ from 9 am to ⁣4 pm, encountered significant delays, with ‌many polls experiencing⁣ disruptions ​exceeding two hours.

Among the familiar names ‍re-elected were Ke Meilan and former Taipei City Communications Director Liu Ying. The election also marked the inclusion of notable newcomers, including Zeng Yanji,​ who previously ran for‍ Taoyuan City council as a⁢ KMT candidate in 2022, and Zhu⁣ Guokang,⁣ the composer behind Ke Wenzhe’s ‌popular ​campaign song “Steady ⁣walk.”​

Zeng’s election ‍follows a period of public discord with the KMT, ⁢even culminating in accusations of violence levied ‍against fellow KMT councilor ​Zhong Xiaoping.Zhu, whose song resonated deeply with Ke’s ‌supporters, brings his creative talent ⁤to the party’s internal structure for the first time.

The election also witnessed the emergence of ‌new figures like Wang Guanjun, president of the Chiai Friends⁢ of taiwanese Philosophers Association, who secured a position as a Chiai ⁣City Party representative.

The Election Committee is slated to submit‌ the⁣ election results‍ to the Central Committee on November 11th. Following ⁣confirmation and approval, the official list ⁣of party members and representatives will be announced, signaling a new chapter for the People’s Party as it ‍navigates the political landscape without its founding figure at the helm.
