The Pepperdine baseball team is set to open a three-game West Coast Conference series against the Seattle U Redhawks on Friday, April 24, 2026, marking the first-ever meeting between the two programs on the baseball diamond.

The series begins at 4:00 p.m. PT at Championship Field in Bellevue, Washington, with Travis Farrell scheduled to start for Seattle U. Pepperdine enters the matchup with an overall record of 14-26 and 8-7 in conference play, while Seattle U stands at 14-21 overall and 9-6 in WCC games.

Seattle U recently secured their fourth WCC series win by taking two of three games from San Diego, during which they scored 30 runs and improved their conference record to 9-6. The victory also marked a milestone for head coach Donny Harrel, who earned his 350th win at Seattle U and 570th overall as a head coach following his tenure at Lane Community College and Seattle U.

Pepperdine’s offense has shown signs of improvement, having recently won a series against Loyola Marymount and earning a win over Cal Poly earlier in the week. The team is preparing to face Seattle U after a stretch that included a midweek loss to Cal Poly and a series finale loss to LMU.

Individually, Seattle U’s Payton Knowles was named WCC Player of the Week after going 9-for-13 with six extra-base hits and eight RBI in the San Diego series, raising his season average to .354, which ranks seventh in the conference. Tyler Horner also contributed significantly, hitting three home runs in the San Diego series — including two in the opener — to take the team lead in both home runs and RBIs with 30.

This weekend’s series represents the first time Seattle U and Pepperdine have met in baseball, adding historical significance to the matchup as both teams look to strengthen their positioning in the West Coast Conference standings.
