Hospitalization and Livestream Incident Details

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies responded to Hilton’s Westchester home on Aug. 4, after receiving multiple calls concerning an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media, according to NBC Miami. Viewers on TikTok pleaded with him and requested his phone number to alert authorities before the platform removed the broadcast and subsequently banned his account, as confirmed by PEOPLE.

Law enforcement authorities placed Hilton under Florida’s Baker Act, a state law allowing for involuntary holding when an individual poses a threat of harm to themselves or others, according to AOL reporting. Prior to the broadcast, Hilton’s children, niece, and sister were inside the home, and family members fled the property upon realizing he was experiencing a severe mental health crisis, according to PEOPLE.

Current Medical Status and Ongoing Recovery

Hilton’s family released an update on Aug. 8, stating that the internet personality remained hospitalized in serious condition with significant blood loss and additional injuries requiring surgery. The family noted that his condition had stabilized but warned that his treatment and recovery would represent a long process, according to NBC Miami and AOL. Representatives for Hilton stated on Aug. 5, that they had no additional confirmed information to share regarding his medical condition.
