Allerton, NY – The Allerton neighborhood is set for growth with a planned expansion of a three-story residential building at 2915 Holland Avenue.Developer Revamp NYC, led by Israel Tishler, has filed permits for a horizontal expansion that will add eight new residences to the area.

Designed by architect Noel Wong of ADB Associates, the project will encompass 3,193 square feet of residential space, with each unit averaging a cozy 399 square feet. While the exact nature of the residences hasn’t been confirmed, the size suggests they will likely be rentals, possibly attracting young professionals or small families.

The expanded building will feature a basement and a spacious 47-foot-long rear yard. The project is expected to proceed without the need for demolition permits,as the expansion will be horizontal. An estimated completion date has yet to be announced.

Local Resident Weighs In

Maria Garcia, a long-time resident of Allerton, shared her thoughts on the development with NewsDirectory3.com. “It’s definitely captivating news,” Garcia said. “Allerton is a pretty tight-knit community, and we’ve seen a lot of changes over the years. More housing is always a complex issue, but I think it’s important to have options for different types of residents.”

Garcia believes the new units, likely rentals due to their size, will attract younger professionals or small families. She expressed hope that Revamp NYC, a developer new to the neighborhood, will be a responsible presence in the community.

“The location is convenient, right near the Allerton Avenue subway station,” Garcia noted. “The 2 and 5 trains make it easy to get around the city. Plus, Allerton has a lot to offer – good schools, parks, and a growing selection of restaurants and shops.”

As Allerton continues to evolve, Garcia hopes the neighborhood can preserve its character and charm while welcoming new residents. “It’s a delicate balance,” she said, “but I think it’s possible to build a thriving community that benefits everyone.”
