Persib Faces Injury Crisis Ahead of Crucial Champions League Clash
Bandung, Indonesia – Persib Bandung is facing a major injury crisis ahead of their crucial AFC Champions League group F clash against Zhejiang FC at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on Thursday.
Head coach Bojan Hodak revealed that several key players are struggling with illness and injuries, casting a shadow over the team’s preparations for the must-win encounter.
“Our preparations have been difficult because we have several players who are sick and injured,” Hodak admitted. “But thankfully, their conditions are improving, and we expect most of them to be ready for the match.”
Hodak confirmed that defender Victor Igbonefo and forward Dimas Drajad will definitely miss the game. Igbonefo is still recovering from an injury,while Drajad is serving a suspension following a red card in Persib’s previous match against Lion City Sailors FC.
Adding to Persib’s woes, two promising young talents, Kakang Rudianto and Robi Darwis, are unavailable as they are currently with the Indonesian national team preparing for the 2024 AFF Championship.
Despite the setbacks, Hodak remains optimistic about his team’s chances. “Apart from those mentioned, the rest of the squad is ready to play,” he said. “We are determined to secure a victory against Zhejiang.”
