Drastically shortens transportation distance from the factory and improves loading efficiency
Inu Neko Seikatsu (Ichitanefunakawaramachi, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), a pet care company that sells domestically produced, additive-free premium pet food, announced on August 30 that it has improved its logistics and packaging materials in order to reduce the environmental impact of its supply chain, and in August it reduced CO2 emissions from its supply chain by approximately 4 tons on an annual basis.
Since mid-July this year, the warehouses for delivery have been relocated from three bases in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Osaka to Toyama, and the switch to a new logistics system was completed in August. Although there is no mention of Dog and Cat Life, it has moved into CRE’s logistics facility.
The dry food manufacturing plant is located in Ishikawa Prefecture, close to Toyama Prefecture, so by significantly shortening the transportation distance from the factory to the warehouse, the company has been able to reduce CO2 emissions associated with transportation from the factory to the warehouse by 3.4 tons per year, a 56% reduction from the previous level.

At the same time, the company reduced the amount of packaging material used by reviewing its packaging materials and changed the size of some of the cardboard boxes. This improved loading efficiency and led to a reduction in CO2 emissions of approximately 0.7 tons per year.
