Petrojet Coach Hails Historic Win: ‘We’ve Got Our Sights Set on Another Season Goal

Petrojet coach Saeed Eid expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance in the draw with Pyramids in the first round of the league.

Eid said in his statement to On Time Sports: “The performance and form did not surprise us. We wanted to take our chances and we benefited well from the interaction before the start of the season.”

He added, “The players have put in a great effort, and God willing, it will be a successful start for us to achieve something good in the league this season.”

He explained, “Since last season in the professional league we have had a way of playing which is characterized by high pressure and continuous attacks. It prepared the players for this style and hence we have retained a large group of players from last season.”

“We had opportunities that could have given us the win the players deserved against a big team,” he continued.

He continued, “If possible, we need to secure survival from the first round, or at least collect points that secure our position in the second half of the season.”

“Avoiding relegation is the main goal, but we have another goal, which is to be in the top nine,” he concluded.

Petrojet surprised everyone and snatched a point from Pyramids in the first round of the Egyptian league with a 1-1 draw in the match played at the Air Defense Stadium.

Petrojets took the lead through Gabriel Chikodi and Feston Mayel equalized for Pyramids.

The draw is the first positive this season and the third after two negative draws between El Gouna against Zed and Modern Sport against NPP yesterday Thursday.

In the 2018-19 season, Pyramid tied with Petrojet under its new name for the first time, after defeating it twice earlier in the first and second rounds with 2-0 scores.

Each team has one point, provisionally occupying fourth and fifth place respectively until the end of the round of matches.

Pyramid will be a guest at NPP on November 8. Meanwhile, Petrojet will host their opponents Modern Sport on the same day.
