Hall of fame quarterback Peyton Manning is now part of the ownership group for Denver’s new NWSL expansion franchise. the team is scheduled to begin playing in 2026. manning, who played for the Denver Broncos for four seasons, is the latest high-profile investor in women’s soccer, following his brother Eli Manning, a minority owner of Gotham FC.
The Denver NWSL team, with its focus on community and inclusion, was officially awarded the franchise in january 2025. The expansion fee was a record $110 million. Initial games will be played at a temporary 12,000-seat venue in Centennial. A permanent 14,500-seat stadium is planned to open in Denver by 2028.
