A dramatic CCTV footage has emerged of a pharmacy employee, a Jiu-Jitsu black belt, subduing two robbers in an instant at a pharmacy in Balneario Camboriu, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
The footage, released by the British media outlet ‘Daily Mail’, shows two robbers, a male and female duo, entering the pharmacy with their faces covered with red cloth. The male approaches and threatens an employee, while his accomplice sweeps medicines off the shelves.
The employee, who had been silently watching the scene, quickly springs into action, subduing the woman first and then approaching the male robber. The male robber, cornered in an instant, falls to the ground without knowing what to do, and the employee climbs on top of him and continues to beat him.
According to the employee, the robbers initially pretended to be armed and threatened the staff. However, upon closer inspection, it was realized that the object they were pretending to be a gun was actually a metal pipe. The employee then quickly ran out and subdued the robbers at the scene.
Brazilian police have arrested the male suspect, but the female robber escaped with the cash. The male robber, who was subdued after being punched by the employee, was taken to the hospital for treatment and will soon be charged with armed robbery. Police are still looking for the female robber.
