Phasmophobia Announces Alan Wake 2 Crossover Event

Kinetic Games and Remedy Entertainment have announced a limited-time crossover event bringing Alan Wake 2 into Phasmophobia, set to launch on May 12, 2026, across all platforms.

The collaboration, titled “Phasmophobia by Alan Wake 2,” marks the first in-game partnership for Phasmophobia and introduces a “new presence” that alters investigations by blending the narrative-driven dread of Alan Wake’s Dark Place with Phasmophobia’s existing hauntings.

According to the announcement revealed during the Galaxies Showcase, the event shifts shadows and behavior in familiar locations in ways players have not experienced before, creating a heightened sense of unease during ghost hunts.

Remedy Entertainment’s Creative Director Sam Lake described the collaboration as a “dream – or rather, nightmare – collaboration,” noting it was a joy to write and that the two worlds “amplify each other perfectly.”

Kinetic Games CEO Daniel Knight echoed this sentiment, stating that working with Remedy has been an incredible experience and that integrating the atmosphere and iconic locations of Alan Wake 2 into Phasmophobia’s maps has opened up unsettling possibilities for players to explore.

The crossover arrives as Phasmophobia reaches significant milestones, having surpassed 5 million console sales and 28 million copies sold underscoring the game’s growing popularity since its release.

As a limited-time event, the Alan Wake 2 crossover will be available for a short period beginning May 12, 2026, after which it will no longer be accessible in the game.
