Philgol | News A Turkish report reveals the reason for Trezeguet’s departure from Trabzonspor
Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet’s” move from Turkey’s Trabzonspor to Qatar’s Al Rayyan opens the door to solving the number of professional players in his squad.
According to Turkish website “haber61”, Trabzonspor are looking to reduce the number of professionals to 14 in accordance with Turkish league registration rules.
Trabzon include 16 foreign players so far, and the door will be open for the departures of Trejet and Tonio Teklić to balance things out.
Here comes the list of Trabzonspor professionals
Pedro Malheiro, Stefan Savic, Arseniy Batazov, Stefano Dinsville, Batista Mendy, John Lundstrom, Enes Bardehi, Mohamed Cham, Edin Visca, Mislav Orsic, Antoni Nwakeme, Simone Panza, Trezeguet and Tonio Techlich.
The report adds that the club expect Tonio Teklic to leave by mutual consent, while Trezeguet will go on loan to Qatar’s Al Rayyan.
As previously reported by Turkish websites “Kuzeyekspres” and “Fotospor”, Trabzon agreed to Al Rayyan’s offer to include the Egyptian national team player on loan for a season.
The reports did not indicate whether there would be a future purchase rights clause.
Trezeguet’s contract with Trabzonspor extends until the summer of 2026.
Trezeguet joined Trabzon from Aston Villa in the summer of 2022.
In the current season, Trezeguet participated in seven matches with the team, during which he scored one goal.
In total, the 29-year-old played 76 matches with the team, during which he scored 14 goals and provided 16 assists.
Trezeguet played 74 matches with the Egyptian national team, during which he scored 18 goals and assisted nine others.
