Philgol | News Report: Done.. Ivan Tony Al-Ahly left for Jeddah.. and Osimene’s fate unknown
Al-Ahli Jeddah have completed a deal with Brentford to include striker and England international Ivan Toney during the current summer transfer window.
According to English network “Sky Sports” and America’s “The Athletic”, Al-Ahli Jeddah have reached an agreement with Brentford for Toni for 40 million pounds sterling.
The report explained that Toney had previously completed his contract with the Saudi club on personal contract details.
But it is not known how the deal will affect the Jeddah-based club’s interest in signing Victor Osimen from Napoli.
Press reports suggest that Al-Ahli Jeddah are competing with Chelsea to land Osimene.
However, the Nigerian striker will move to Saudi Arabia if Chelsea fail to reach a personal agreement over the details of his contract.
This is in addition to his willingness to insert a penalty clause in his contract with Al-Ahly Jeddah that would allow him to return to Europe if paid.
Sky Sports Italia’s reliable transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, explained that Al-Ahli will set a condition of less than 100 million euros to convince Osimen to accept his offer.
Tony missed the first two English Premier League matches due to his proposed inclusion.
Ivan Toney joined Brentford from Peterborough in 2020.
Tony played 141 matches with Brentford, during which he scored 72 goals and provided 23 assists.
