Al Hilal Club have submitted an official offer to Benfica to sign team player Marcos Leonardo during the current summer transfer window.
According to renowned Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, Al Hilal made an official offer to the Portuguese club for 40 million euros.
Romano says that the decision is now up to Benfica, as the club has not made a decision yet.
Benfica signed the Brazilian striker for 18 million euros in last winter’s transfer window, arriving from Santos.
In this half season, the 21-year-old managed to score 7 goals in 468 minutes played in all tournaments as well as assisting another goal.
The Saudi club intends to exploit the Saudi Federation’s regulations regarding the right to register numbers of foreign players under the age of 21.
Leonardo’s contract with Benfica expires in 2029.
Note that the transfer market in Saudi Arabia will be closed on September 2.
