Philippine Navy Completes Successful Resupply Missions​ in Disputed Waters

Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Navy successfully ‍completed rotation and reprovisioning‌ (RORE) missions to nine islands in the West Philippine Sea this‍ december, encountering Chinese vessels in ⁤the vicinity ​but reporting no untoward incidents.

Commodore Roy Trinidad, Philippine navy​ spokesperson for the West Philippine⁣ Sea, ⁢announced the successful completion of the missions at a press conference on Tuesday. The RORE ‌operations, ‌conducted ‍from December 3rd​ to 14th, involved the rotation of troops and​ the replenishment of supplies on ‍the strategically vital ​islands.

“The activities were ⁤conducted successfully,”⁣ Commodore Trinidad stated.⁤ “There⁤ were no untoward⁣ incidents monitored.”

While the missions proceeded without incident, Commodore Trinidad confirmed the presence⁤ of Chinese vessels near Ayungin Shoal, a notably ​contested area. “there were two Chinese Coast Guard and two PLA (people’s Liberation Army) Navy ships in​ the vicinity… just in the vicinity doing nothing. No ​illegal actions,no‍ coercive actions,” he ‌added.

The RORE missions ‌spanned nine key⁢ island features in the West Philippine Sea: Ayungin Shoal, Pag-asa Island, lawak ⁣Island, Parola Island, Patag ​Island, Kota Island,⁢ Rizal Reef, ‌Likas ‌Island, and Panata island.

This latest operation underscores the Philippine Navy’s commitment to maintaining a robust presence in the West⁢ Philippine Sea.Commodore Trinidad highlighted the Navy’s ongoing efforts,‍ stating that from January 1st‌ to⁤ December 16th, they conducted over 300 maritime sovereignty and ⁤surveillance patrol missions, more than​ 100 air surveillance flights, and over 60 RORE⁣ missions in the disputed ​region.

While⁤ Chinese Coast Guard and PLA (People’s Liberation Army) Navy⁢ ships where observed near Ayungin⁤ Shoal, Commodore Trinidad emphasized that⁤ “there were… no illegal actions, no ⁤coercive actions” from the Chinese vessels.
