Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Navy successfully ‍completed rotation and reprovisioning (RORE) missions to nine islands in the West Philippine Sea this‍ december, encountering Chinese vessels in ⁤the vicinity but reporting no untoward incidents.

Commodore Roy Trinidad, Philippine navy spokesperson for the West Philippine⁣ Sea, ⁢announced the successful completion of the missions at a press conference on Tuesday. The RORE operations, conducted ‍from December 3rd to 14th, involved the rotation of troops and the replenishment of supplies on ‍the strategically vital islands.

“The activities were ⁤conducted successfully,”⁣ Commodore Trinidad stated.⁤ “There⁤ were no untoward⁣ incidents monitored.”

While the missions proceeded without incident, Commodore Trinidad confirmed the presence⁤ of Chinese vessels near Ayungin Shoal, a notably contested area. “there were two Chinese Coast Guard and two PLA (people’s Liberation Army) Navy ships in the vicinity… just in the vicinity doing nothing. No illegal actions,no‍ coercive actions,” he added.

The RORE missions spanned nine key⁢ island features in the West Philippine Sea: Ayungin Shoal, Pag-asa Island, lawak ⁣Island, Parola Island, Patag Island, Kota Island,⁢ Rizal Reef, Likas Island, and Panata island.
