Philadelphia Stabbings: Woman Dead, Man Critical After separate Incidents

Philadelphia police are investigating two separate stabbings that occurred Saturday night, leaving one woman dead and a man in critical condition.The incidents, classified as violent crime, took place in different sections of the city.
In Southwest Philadelphia, a 56-year-old woman was fatally stabbed around 9:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of South Yewdall Street. inspector D.F. Pace told reporters that a 56-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. The suspect allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times in the chest following an argument fueled by alcohol, Pace said.
Another stabbing occurred near the intersection of E. Clearfield Street and Hartville Street. A man in his 40s was stabbed several times with a screwdriver after an argument. The suspect fled on foot and is currently not in custody, according to Pace. The victim was transported to a local hospital in very critical condition.
Police have recovered the screwdriver used in the second attack.Pace added that the victim and the suspect knew each other, and family members witnessed the incident.
