Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, the resourceful stepbrothers who charmed disney Channel viewers in the summer of 2007, are back. Along with secret-agent pet platypus Perry and sister Candace, the characters return for a new season of fun-filled adventures.
Creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, who also voice Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Maj. francis Monogram, respectively, discussed the show’s return. The five-time Emmy-winning series promises more of the inventive escapades that made it a hit.
Povenmire noted the show’s resurgence on Disney+ during the pandemic. “It became their comfort show during that time,” Povenmire said. Disney approached them about creating more episodes after the show consistently ranked in the streamer’s top five. Following the success of their 2020 movie, the creators agreed to produce 40 new episodes.
