Remains Found in Search for missing Pheobe Bishop

Human remains have been located in the search for missing Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop, 17. Queensland Police confirmed the finding and stated that forensic testing is in progress to formally identify them. The remains were discovered Friday at approximately 2:30 p.m. near Good Night Scrub National Park, close to Gin Gin.
The discovery occurred one day after Bishop’s housemates were charged with her murder. The police are continuing to appeal for any details regarding Pheobe or the movements of a gray Hyundai ix35 in the Gin Gin area between May 15 and 18.
Detective Inspector Craig Mansfield acknowledged the grim find. “We always wanted to bring Pheobe home, and we believe that this is the first step in that process,” Mansfield said. He added that Pheobe’s family had been notified.
The housemates, James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, face charges of murder and two counts each of interfering with a corpse.They are being held in custody untill their next court appearance on August 11.
Police anticipate that forensic investigations at the site will conclude soon. Investigators will attempt to determine the cause of death, though success is not guaranteed.
“We do hope that this development, coupled with the arrests in recent times, will bring some level of closure to Pheobe’s family so they can begin to move forward with their grieving process,” Mansfield said.
Pheobe’s mother, Kylie Johnson, expressed her grief on social media.”I didn’t think my heart could break anymore then it did when you went missing, or when the charges were laid but this! This is ripping me apart…” she posted.
