Phoenix Man Arrested in Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash

February 17, 2026 – Phoenix Police have arrested Eric Dustin Hodge, 46, in connection with a hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of 26-year-old Hannah Rose Henry. The incident occurred on February 8, according to police reports.

Hodge was arrested on charges including manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Investigators allege that Hodge struck Henry, who was riding a bicycle, and then fled the scene.

According to court documents, Hodge admitted to smoking fentanyl before the crash and stated he fell asleep while driving. He reportedly told investigators he believed he had hit a fire hydrant and was unaware he had struck a person until his arrest.

Police responded to the area of Central Avenue and Elwood Street at approximately 11:18 a.m. On February 8 following reports of the collision. Phoenix Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced Henry deceased at the scene.

Investigators located the vehicle allegedly involved in the crash parked at a residence in the area of 3rd Avenue and Buckeye Road. The van’s registered owner reportedly told officers that Hodge was driving the vehicle. Officers then observed Hodge exiting the back door of a nearby condo and made contact with him.

The investigation began when officers responded to reports of a bicyclist struck by a car. Upon arrival, they found Hannah Rose Henry in critical condition.

Here’s a developing story. Further details will be reported as they become available.
