Pictory launched a significant update to its AI-powered video creation platform on March 3, 2026, unifying video creation, hosting, and interactive features into a single subscription. The move aims to streamline workflows for businesses and content creators who often rely on multiple software tools.

Traditionally, professionals have needed separate AI tools for scripting, image generation, voiceovers, and editing. Pictory 2.0 addresses this fragmentation with an integrated AI studio environment. Users can now generate scripts, images, and video clips directly from text prompts. The platform leverages multimodal models, including Amazon Nova Canvas and PixVerse 5.5, for visual generation.

A key feature of Pictory 2.0 is the introduction of AI-generated avatars. These digital presenters can deliver scripts, eliminating the need for on-camera talent, studios, and traditional production crews. According to Pictory co-founder and CEO Vikram Chalana, this provides businesses with a “consistent brand presence at significantly reduced production costs.” The platform also automatically converts existing PowerPoint presentations, blog articles, and podcasts into branded videos with captions.

Pictory Central: An Integrated Hosting Solution

Perhaps the most strategically important aspect of the update is Pictory Central. This transforms Pictory from a creation tool into a full-fledged hosting and distribution service, directly challenging established enterprise video platforms.

Users can embed interactive elements into videos post-creation, including automatically generated chapter markers, AI-powered quizzes, and clickable call-to-action buttons. This shifts the viewing experience from passive consumption to active engagement, a critical factor in modern marketing and e-learning.

Support for Corporate Learning and Development

For corporate training, the platform supports SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) exports. This allows training videos to be seamlessly integrated into existing Learning Management Systems (LMS). Human Resources departments can track engagement and quiz results directly within their corporate infrastructure.

Preet Paul, HR Leader at Covered Insurance Solutions, stated that Pictory Central has “fundamentally changed our internal processes,” allowing the team to move from expensive, time-consuming production to the rapid deployment of interactive training materials that employees actively use.

A Growing Market for AI-Powered Video

The launch comes at a time of rapid growth in the AI video market. Statista forecasts that the global market for AI in media and entertainment will reach nearly $99.5 billion by 2030. Vendors are increasingly focusing on workflow optimization and brand safety for enterprise customers, rather than solely on generative power.

“Our business customers wanted one place to create, manage, and deliver interactive video content,” explained Chalana. “Unifying generation, interactivity, and hosting enables teams to scale branded content with presenters in minutes.”

The pricing and feature structure reflect this enterprise focus. Brand Kits ensure visual consistency, a Chrome extension quickly converts web content into videos, and a video summarizer distills lengthy webinars into concise highlights. Pictory reported that over 5.8 million videos were created using the previous version of the platform in the last year, demonstrating significant demand for automated video solutions within the corporate sector.

Future Developments

Pictory has announced further innovations, including:

  • Customizable avatars tailored to specific brand personalities or even real-life executives.
  • Advanced voice cloning technology for realistic, synthetic voices, ideal for consistent audio branding in global campaigns.
  • A dedicated mobile experience for managing the video pipeline directly from smartphones.

The company will showcase the integrated end-to-end pipeline in a public webinar on March 11, 2026.

AI continues to lower the barriers to professional multimedia production. Platforms that combine generative capabilities with practical, secure business applications are poised to shape the next phase of the digital content economy.
