Picture Tree International Adds German Films to Sales Slate

Picture ⁢Tree International (PTI), based in Berlin, has secured world sales rights for two major German film‍ projects: “Hot Girl Summer” (Mädchen Mädchen) and “Almost Brothers” (Ganzer Halber Bruder). These films ‍will be presented at the⁤ German Film Previews in Hannover in early July, following their premieres at the Munich Film Festival.

Constantin Filmverleih will release​ Martina Pluras‘s⁢ “Hot‍ Girl Summer” in theaters ‌July 3. the film is a Gen Z-focused reboot of a popular early 2000s franchise,⁤ emphasizing contemporary female empowerment while ​paying homage to the original. Marina Schiller and Viola​ Jäger produced it in collaboration with⁢ Jakob Pochlatko, Dieter Pochlatko, and Oliver⁢ Berben.

Hanno Olderdissen’s “Almost Brothers,”‌ a comedy starring Christoph Maria Herbst, is slated for a Sept. ‌18 theatrical ‍release by Wild Bunch Germany. The film, produced by ⁣Boris Schönfelder, explores the complexities of family as⁣ two half-brothers are forced to live together.
