Updated May 29, 2025
A new digital health care marketplace, General Medicine, has emerged with $32 million in funding and notable ties to Amazon. The company, billing itself as a “one-stop shop for expert care,” was co-founded by former Amazon employees, including the founders of PillPack, which Amazon acquired in 2018.
general Medicine aims to connect patients to it’s own telehealth medical practices and to outside care providers. Sunita Mishra, chief medical officer at Amazon Health Services, advised the company early on and is the physician owner of one of General Medicine’s medical practices, both General Medicine and Mishra confirmed.
Like many telehealth companies, General Medicine partners with medical practices owned by licensed physicians. The company stated it began transferring ownership of its medical practices to another physician owner, Pallabi Sanyal-Dey, before its launch.
