Game Overview

Sega Publishing Korea will release ‘Yakuza: Like a Dragon 8 Side Story: Pirates in Hawaii’ on February 28, 2025. The game is scheduled to be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC, and officially supports Korean.

Yakuza 8 Side Story is an action adventure game set half a year after Yakuza 8. The game is set in an island and the sea, and the main character is Majima Goro, who washes up on a remote island beach after fighting Kiryu at the Millennium Tower in the main game.

Gameplay and Features

Majima, who has lost his memory and even forgot his own name, sets out to the sea with Noah, a boy from the island who saved his life, in order to find clues about himself.

The background Hawaii and the surrounding seas are the places where many pirates and seamen gather their desires. You can explore various locations, such as the remote island of ‘Rich Island’ where Goro Majima awakens, and the remote island of ‘Madlantis’ where many criminal organizations coexist.

Yakuza; Like; 8 side story returns to real-time action battles, unlike the main story. Majima Goro fights in two styles, ‘Mad Dog’ and ‘Pirates’. Majima’s fast-paced punches and kicks-based combat is implemented in the Mad Dog style. Pirates is themed around pirates and uses various related tools such as cutlasses and pistols to fight enemies.

Tokyo Game Show 2024

Yakuza 8 Side Story will participate in the ‘Tokyo Game Show 2024’ to be held from the 26th. At the Sega/Atlus booth at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, an experience corner where you can pre-play Yakuza 8 Side Story, a photo zone, etc. are planned.
