After seeking a second opinion from Dr. Neal ElAttrache, a Los Angeles Dodgers team physician, the decision was made to proceed with the injection.The PRP injection is a key part of Rodríguez’s elbow injury treatment.
Pirates manager Don Kelly addressed the situation before Saturday’s game against the Chicago Cubs, outlining the recovery timeline. “The recommendation was for a PRP injection that he’ll get next week and then four weeks of complete rest before he starts to ramp back up,” Kelly saeid. ”So unfortunately, it’ll be a little while.”
Rodríguez, who is 25 and also plays first base, initially landed on the 10-day injured list on June 7 due to elbow inflammation. He was subsequently moved to the 60-day injured list Friday.
