Pisogne, MI – Less than a year after its demolition, the PalaRomele sports complex in Pisogne has returned, reborn as a modern, energy-efficient, adn multi-functional facility. While some exterior finishing touches remain, the interior is complete and ready too host its first event: a free gospel concert by the “Spirit of New Orleans” on January 1st at 6 p.m. Regular activities, including team practices, games, and school use, will begin on January 4th.

“It will be the most lovely gym in the province,” declared Mayor Federico Laini, beaming with pride.

The $5.5 million project was funded through a combination of regional contributions, a municipal loan, and grants from the Gse and the 145/2018 law.

The new PalaRomele boasts a sleek,modern design inspired by Scandinavian architecture,prioritizing energy efficiency.

The complex features seating for approximately 400 spectators, four locker rooms for teams and referees, an infirmary with direct ambulance access, an anti-doping room, restrooms, a space for sports associations, a storage area, and a planned bar. An outdoor green space will also be created for use by schools and the sports complex.

Final exterior work is expected to be completed by mid-February, paving the way for a grand opening party. The mayor envisions the PalaRomele as a vibrant hub for the community, offering a state-of-the-art facility for athletes and residents alike.
