Pit Bull on the Loose: Fierce Canine Breaks Free in Omitama, Ibaraki After Backyard Capture

A resident of Mika, Omitama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, reported a stray dog in their garden to the city hall at approximately 4:30 pm on the 10th. According to the city, the dog was identified as an American pit bull terrier. City staff immediately responded to the scene to ensure the dog’s safety, but unfortunately, the dog’s collar came off, and it escaped. The incident was publicly announced by the 11th.

The American pit bull terrier is approximately 80 centimeters in length and is believed to be a female. Despite efforts, the owner remains unknown. The city is advising residents to exercise caution and not approach the dog if spotted.
