This move follows Brownstone’s previous overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. As part of the company’s expansion, Anna Hughes has been promoted to vice president, and Kristen Spence to creative executive.
The elizabeth Banks production company, known for its work on the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, already has two projects in development with UTV for Peacock. One is “Pitch Perfect: K-Pop Idols,” a comedy from writer Joel Kim Booster. The show centers on a struggling singer-songwriter who auditions for an all-American K-pop group. Banks and Handelman will executive produce alongside Paul Brooks and scott Niemeyer for Gold Circle Films, with Jason Moore directing and executive producing.
