Small Plane Crashes at London Southend Airport, Emergency Services Respond

David Burton-Sampson MP, who represents the Southend West constituency, confirmed he was aware of the incident. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts: “I am aware of an incident at Southend Airport. Please keep away and allow the emergency services to do their work. My thoughts are with everyone involved. 🙏🏽”
The cause of the crash is not yet known, but initial reports indicate it involved a small aircraft.
Matt Dent,Southend city Council’s cabinet member for buisness,culture,music and tourism,also commented on the situation via X. He stated, “I am aware of the live serious incident ongoing at London Southend Airport. At present all I know is that a small plane has crashed at the airport. My thoughts are with all those involved, and with the emergency services currently responding to the incident.”
Police, fire, and ambulance services are all present at the scene, with the force confirming their continued presence. Further details are expected to be released as the situation develops.
