Kaia Island is gearing up for a vibrant February, as the casual social networking game Play Together launches its new horse racing festival, Legend Derby, today, February 5, 2026. The update, announced by global game company HAEGIN, aims to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Horse with a flurry of new content, and events.

Legend Derby: A Race to Crown Kaia Island’s Champion

At the heart of the update is the Legend Derby, a festival designed to determine the greatest racehorse on Kaia Island. The main roads of Kaia Island Plaza will be transformed into a dedicated racecourse, providing a dazzling spectacle for players. Participants will take on the role of coaches at the prestigious Pegasus Academy, tasked with training promising racehorses Rumi and Crimson. This training will involve a series of minigames, demanding speed and skill as players race alongside their equine charges.

The competitive element extends beyond training, with players able to enter “Run! Legend Derby!” using event coins. Success in this minigame, which involves rolling dice to determine a horse’s movement, will be rewarded with items including the Pegasus Academy Dean’s Uniform Set and the coveted Crimson Pony (Mount). The game mechanics emphasize strategic coin multipliers, allowing players to increase their chances of success based on their accumulated Pegasus Coins.

New Content and Collectibles for the Year of the Horse

The celebration of the Year of the Horse isn’t limited to the racetrack. HAEGIN is introducing a wealth of new content, including 30 limited-edition Legend Derby Ponies, each sporting unique outfits. Players can also craft two new flying pets – the Pegasus Donkey and Unicorn Donkey – through the Workshop. The Carrot Workshop is also opening in My Farm, allowing players to utilize their grown carrots to craft various event items.

A special attendance event is currently underway, rewarding players with Pegasus Coins and the Hobby Horse (Mount) simply for logging in over a seven-day period. Players completing the Pegasus Coaching Manual missions will earn the Pegasus Riding costume. These incentives encourage consistent engagement and provide players with exclusive rewards.

Lunar New Year Celebrations on Kaia Island

The festivities extend beyond the Year of the Horse, with preparations underway for the Lunar New Year. A midnight countdown event is scheduled for February 16, offering players a communal space to welcome the new year. A Lunar New Year celebratory video and fireworks display will illuminate the Beach near the Plaza, creating a festive atmosphere on Kaia Island. The video will run from 23:00 to 00:05 (based on the player’s connection environment) on February 16 and February 17.

My Farm will also receive updates, with the introduction of three new crops: papaya, fig, and soursop trees. These additions not only diversify the farming experience but also carry cultural significance, as these fruits symbolize prosperity in Southeast Asian New Year traditions.

Beyond the core events, the update includes a Valentine event, “Sweet Alphabet Hunt & Event Shop,” and a new card collecting event titled “A Late Look Back at 2025.” A Lovely Dark Bunny Draw is also available, offering players the chance to acquire unique items. Updates to My Home settings and random rewards within minigames are planned.
