The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, hailed as the best high-end smartphone of 2024, has faced a series of “complaints” from its owners. The device, which popularized artificial intelligence with its Galaxy AI features, has been criticized for its design, particularly its sharp edges. These edges have reportedly caused significant wear and tear on users’ pants pockets, leading to a flurry of complaints on social media platforms.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is a powerhouse, featuring a 6.8-inch diagonal screen and weighing 232 grams. Its design, characterized by steep angles and a heavy build, has been a significant point of contention. Users have reported that the phone’s sharp edges cause noticeable damage to their pockets over time. This issue has become a hot topic on Reddit, with users sharing images of the damage caused by the phone’s design.

Angular, Large, and Heavy: The Perfect Combo for Pocket Damage

The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s design, with its sharp angles and substantial weight, has been identified as the perfect recipe for pocket damage. The phone’s 6.8-inch diagonal screen and 232-gram weight make it a bulky device, and its sharp edges exacerbate the problem. Users have reported that the phone’s design not only causes discomfort but also leaves noticeable wear on their pants.

While the design may be aesthetically pleasing, the sharp edges have been a source of frustration for many users. As one Reddit user, partyhat-red, noted, “The sharp edges sting the palm of the hand, but it must be believed that he is therefore able to do more important damage.” Another user, Kitchen-Training2037, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the potential for significant damage to pockets.

Despite the complaints, Samsung has not issued an official statement addressing the issue. However, the company has made strides in improving the design with the upcoming release of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which features rounded corners. This move is seen as a response to user feedback and a step towards a more user-friendly design.

For those who have already invested in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the best course of action may be to use a protective case. While this won’t eliminate the sharp edges, it can mitigate the damage to pockets. Users are encouraged to share their experiences and solutions on forums like Reddit to help others find the best protective measures.

In conclusion, while the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is a powerful and feature-rich device, its design flaws have led to significant user dissatisfaction. As the tech industry continues to evolve, manufacturers must prioritize user feedback and design improvements to ensure a better user experience. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, with its rounded corners, is a promising step in the right direction.
