PT PLN and Wuling Collaborate to Boost Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure in Indonesia

Jakarta — PT PLN (Persero), through its subsidiary PT Haleyora Power, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT SAIC General Motors Wuling (Wuling). This partnership aims to accelerate the installation of home charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs).

The signing ceremony for the MoU took place on the sidelines of the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Friday, February 14th. The collaboration underscores PT PLN’s commitment to fostering the development of an EV ecosystem in Indonesia, in line with the country’s push towards sustainable transportation.

Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 79 of 2023 emphasizes the significance of accelerating the program for battery-based electric motorized vehicles (BEVs) in road transportation. This initiative is crucial for Indonesia, as it seeks to reduce carbon emissions and promote renewable energy.

Haleyora Power and Wuling will work together to install chargers and power sockets, ensuring reliable and convenient charging solutions for EV owners.

Wuling will also play a crucial role in informing customers about the installation process, coordinating with electricity providers, and ensuring the charging infrastructure runs optimally. Meanwhile, PLN will handle the electricity supply and capacity increase, and Haleyora Power will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of the charging devices, ensuring they remain functional within the stipulated period.
