Stony Brook Hospital Pioneers Collaborative Approach ‌to Lipid⁢ Management

Stony Brook University Hospital⁣ is enhancing ​care for patients with ​high cholesterol through ⁣a new,⁣ collaborative model involving pharmacists,⁢ nurses, and other staff. The initiative, ⁣spearheaded by On Chen, MD, ⁢and Tahmid Rahman, MD, aims to⁣ streamline medication delivery ‌and ⁢administration for​ those undergoing advanced lipid ⁤management.

“It‌ really ⁤was‍ a collaboration with pharmacy,with nursing,with clerical and everyone working together to get the medication delivered and administered,” said Rahman in an interview with Pharmacy Times.

The Center for ​Advanced Lipid Management, part of the Stony Brook Heart Institute, is focused on providing tertiary care for the Long Island region.‍ This new approach ⁤underscores a commitment to integrated healthcare and ⁣improved patient ​outcomes.
