Global Economic Pressures and Inflation
Beyond technological changes, Prime Minister Wong warned of the economic risks posed by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He noted that this instability is likely to cause persisting disruptions to supply chains and contribute to rising inflation.
Regarding these external pressures, the Prime Minister stated that Singapore will feel the impact directly
.
National Resilience and Readiness
Despite the combined challenges of AI and geopolitical volatility, Prime Minister Wong asserted that Singapore can maintain quiet confidence
in its future. He argued that the nation is not entering this period of uncertainty from a vulnerable state.

We do not face this crisis from a position of weakness. We are better prepared – and in a much stronger position today
