New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Arab Emirates deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in New Delhi on Thursday, reaffirming their commitment to teh India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEEC) as a key driver of regional connectivity and prosperity.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi hailed the IMEEC as a “historic initiative” and emphasized the need for its swift implementation.The corridor,a ambitious infrastructure project,aims to connect India,the Middle East,and Europe through a network of railways,ports,and highways.

“Prime Minister Modi expressed satisfaction at the frequent high-level visits and exchanges, including the visit of the crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in September 2024, which marked a generational continuity in bilateral relations,” a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan briefed Prime Minister Modi on the situation in West Asia, and the Prime Minister reiterated india’s commitment to supporting long-term peace, stability, and security in the region.
Prime Minister Modi also expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership for ensuring the well-being of the large Indian community residing in the UAE.
