Rural India Brimming with New Energy, Says PM Modi at Grameen Bharat Mahotsav
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday painted a vibrant picture of a revitalized rural India, attributing the transformation to the government’s unwavering commitment to empowering its villages.
Speaking at the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025, themed “Building a Resilient Rural India for Viksit Bharat 2047,” Modi emphasized that the government’s policies adn decisions are injecting fresh energy into the countryside.
“Our vision is to empower rural India by transforming villages into vibrant centers of growth and prospect,” Modi declared.
He highlighted the government’s success in extending top-tier healthcare services to even the most remote corners of the country,recalling the COVID-19 pandemic as a testament to India’s rural resilience.
“During the COVID pandemic, the world doubted how Indian villages would tackle the crisis,” Modi said. “but we ensured vaccines reached the last person in every village.”

Modi underscored the importance of inclusive economic policies in strengthening the rural economy, proudly stating that over the past decade, the government has implemented targeted policies for every segment of rural society.
Clean Water,Basic amenities Reach Every Village
The Prime Minister highlighted the NDA government’s extraordinary track record in providing clean drinking water and basic amenities to millions of households across the country.
“Today, people are getting better options for health services in more than 1.5 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs,” Modi remarked. “With the help of digital technology, we have also connected the best doctors and hospitals in the country to the villages and have availed the benefit of telemedicine.”
Empowering Farmers,Lifting Millions Out of poverty
Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening the rural economy through targeted policies.He cited the PM-KISAN scheme, which has provided approximately Rs.3 lakh crore in financial assistance to farmers, as a prime example.
“Over the past decade, the amount of agricultural loans has increased 3.5 times,” Modi noted. “Just 2-3 days ago, the Cabinet approved the continuation of the PM Fasal Bima Yojana for one more year.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s success in pulling millions out of poverty. Citing an SBI research report, he stated that poverty in rural India fell below 5% in 2024 from about 26% in 2012.

“Well,” Priya began, “he mentioned things like extending top-tier healthcare to remote villages, which was amazing, especially since he recalled how successful the country was in getting vaccines to every village during COVID.”
“Wow,” Rohan said, impressed.“That’s a huge achievement.”
Priya nodded enthusiastically. “Exactly! And he also talked about how over the past decade, the government has implemented targeted policies for every segment of rural society – from farmers to small businesses.”
“What about things like basic amenities, like clean drinking water?” Rohan asked.
“He talked about that too!” Priya exclaimed. “He said that the government has been incredibly successful in providing clean drinking water and basic amenities to millions of households across the country. It’s amazing that something so fundamental is now accessible to so many.”
“it does sound like the government is truly focused on rural development,” Rohan conceded, “but what about poverty? Has that been addressed?”
Priya grinned. “Absolutely! Modi cited a research report having mentioned that poverty in rural India has fallen below 5% in 2024,from about 26% in 2012.That’s a huge decrease and a testament to the government’s efforts.”
