The award, presented by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, recognizes Modi’s significant contributions to strengthening the bond between India and Kuwait.This marks Modi’s 20th international honor, placing him among a distinguished group of recipients including former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush, and UK royal King Charles III.
“I am honored to be conferred the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order by His Highness the amir of Kuwait,” Modi tweeted, expressing his gratitude and dedicating the honor to the people of India and the enduring friendship between the two nations.
The “Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer” is traditionally bestowed upon Heads of State, foreign sovereigns, and members of royal families, signifying a gesture of deep friendship and respect.
Modi’s two-day visit to Kuwait, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years, has been marked by significant diplomatic engagements. He held productive talks with Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, focusing on strengthening cooperation in key areas such as pharmaceuticals, information technology, FinTech, infrastructure, and security.
