In a recent media talk in London, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for unity and cooperation in the face of economic challenges. He lamented that social media abuse targeting the army and martyrs is detrimental to national interests, stating that such actions are more harmful than any external enemy.
Rebuilding Relations with China and Economic Reforms
Without directly referencing the PTI founder, the Prime Minister criticized the previous government’s efforts to undermine relations with China. He also highlighted the former government’s involvement in the closure of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the privatization of national institutions, which led to significant losses.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif credited General Asim Munir for his instrumental role in securing the IMF program. He also acknowledged the support of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and China in approving the loan program. The Prime Minister emphasized that his government’s assumption of power has saved Pakistan from bankruptcy. He stressed that economic stability is inextricably linked to political stability and proposed the signing of the Democracy Charter in 2018.
