PM Shehbaz Sharif to Brief PML-N Parliamentary Party on Constitutional Amendments

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentary party to discuss proposed constitutional amendments. The meeting, scheduled to take place at 7 pm today at the Prime Minister’s House, aims to bring the parliamentary party up to speed on the amendments.

The Prime Minister will address the party’s parliamentary leaders, providing them with insight into the constitutional amendments and answering any questions they may have. A lunch will also be hosted for the members following the meeting.

The meeting comes as the government prepares to introduce a crucial constitutional amendment in Parliament today, which seeks to extend the age limit for Supreme Court judges. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed the development yesterday, while Barrister Aqeel, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Legal Affairs, claimed that the government has secured the necessary support from members for the amendment.

However, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Salman Akram Raja has expressed skepticism, suggesting that the government can only pass the constitutional amendment by exerting pressure on opposition members.
