The Peruvian Judiciary has ordered four months of preventive detention for a commander in the National Police of Peru (PNP) following allegations that he insulted and intimidated a fellow officer.
Commander Manuel Canales Moscoso was detained in the district of San Martín de Porres. According to reports from El Comercio Perú, the incident began when the commander was stopped by a traffic police officer for invading the exclusive lane used by the Metropolitano transit system.
During the interaction, Canales Moscoso is accused of using insults and threatening behavior toward the officer on duty. As a result of these actions, the Judiciary issued the preventive detention order, as reported by RPP.
