, or religious sermons, while in detention.
Following the death of the suspect, the police have stopped the handling of the case in accordance with Article 24 of the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), which dictates the termination of legal proceedings when a suspect dies.
Background of the Legal Case
The legal issues began following a dispute between Yai Mim and his neighbor, Nurul Sahara, in the Kavling Depag III Atas Housing area of Merjosari Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City. The dispute gained significant public attention after it went viral on social media in September 2025.

The situation resulted in mutual police reports. Nurul Sahara reported Yai Mim for alleged pornography, which eventually led the Malang City Police to officially name him as a suspect. This determination was confirmed by Yudi Risdiyanto, the Head of Public Relations for the Malang City Police, on January 6, stating that the criminal elements and evidence had been met.
Concurrently, Yai Mim had filed reports against several residents of the Kavling Depag III Atas Housing complex, alleging persecution and blasphemy. Other reports indicated that Yai Mim had previously ignored police summons related to the harassment and pornography allegations before his eventual detention.
separate reports indicated that Yai Mim had claimed total losses estimated at IDR 660 million following a tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of September 16, 2025.
Final Arrangements
In his final wishes, Yai Mim requested to be buried beside his parents in Udanawu, Blitar.
