Acting Sergeant Paul Hogan of Victoria Police confirmed that the reported incident occurred at a licensed premises located in Melbourne’s Central Business District.

The claims first surfaced on social media over the weekend of April 12-13, 2026. Ruby Rose posted a comment in response to a clip of Katy Perry discussing Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance, stating that Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne.

Rose later clarified on the platform Threads that she has formally completed a police report regarding the claims. She noted that the alleged assault occurred nearly 20 years ago at the Spice Market nightclub.

Following the filing of the report, Rose stated that she is now restricted from discussing the case publicly.
