Poncle and Yoko Shimomura to Create Vampire Crawlers Theme Song

Poncle, the developer of Vampire Survivors, has announced the main theme for its upcoming title, Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors. The game is scheduled to launch on April 21, 2026, for multiple platforms, featuring a soundtrack collaboration with renowned Japanese composer and pianist Yoko Shimomura.

The main theme, titled Il Cuor non si Spaura, was composed by Shimomura, who is recognized for her work on several iconic video game series, including Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario RPG, Street Fighter II, Final Fight and Legend of Mana.

Gameplay Mechanics and Genre

Vampire Crawlers is described as a turbo turn-based, card-driven BLOBBER—a first-person dungeon crawler—that incorporates rogue-lite elements. Developed by poncle in collaboration with Nosebleed Interactive, the title aims to translate the snowballing progression found in Vampire Survivors into a tactical, deck-building format.

The core combat system centers on turn-based carnage where players play cards in ascending mana order to execute combos. Each successful step in the sequence multiplies the effect of the subsequent card. Players can utilize Wilds to extend these stacks, potentially reaching combos of 10, 20, or 30 cards.

The game offers flexible pacing, allowing players to either take a tactical approach or execute turns as quickly as possible.

Deck Building and Progression

Progression in Vampire Crawlers involves accumulating experience and leveling up to acquire new cards. Players can customize their builds using power-ups and customization gems obtained by headbutting chests. The gameplay loop also includes chasing weapon evolutions and summoning survivors to trigger cascading effects.

According to the game’s overview, the experience involves exploring maps, killing monsters, and finding treasures within familiar dungeons viewed from a new perspective.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors will be available for $9.99 starting April 21, 2026. The game will launch across a wide array of hardware and storefronts:
