Speaking at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral in Bamenda, Cameroon, on the fourth day of his 11-day pastoral visit to Africa, the pontiff criticized leaders who spend billions on wars while neglecting resources for healing, education, and restoration.
“Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic and political gain,” said Pope Leo.
