A Message of Spiritual Closeness

Cardinal P. Francis, the Secretary of State, conveyed the Pope’s greetings and prayers for the 17th pilgrimage of families to Pompeii and Loreto. This significant event is led by the Charismatic Movement of the Renewal of the Holy Spirit, in collaboration with various pastoral centers of pilgrimage, the Administration of the Italian Episcopal Committee for Families, and the Special Forum for Families.

The message, addressed to the President of the Charismatic Movement, Giuseppe Contaldo, highlights the spiritual closeness of the Pope to all participating families. The pilgrimage’s theme, “Do what he tells you,” is inspired by the words of the Holy Mother to the hosts of the wedding feast in Cana.

A Journey Rooted in Faith

The Pope expressed his desire for the pilgrimage to be a journey rooted in faith for parents, children, and grandparents. He also prayed for the Holy Mother’s intercession on behalf of family members facing numerous challenges.

In particular, the Pope mentioned those affected by war and poverty, emphasizing the need for peace and community. He wished for families to become instruments of peace, testifying to the beauty of life’s communal aspects.

At the end of the message, Pope Francis announced that he would impart his gracious blessing upon the pilgrims. This blessing serves as a reminder of the Pope’s spiritual presence and support for families on their journey.
