[Epoch Times September 25, 2024](Epoch Times reporter Xia Yu comprehensive report) Many people like McDonald’s breakfast, among which bagel breakfast sandwiches are very popular among consumers. Now, after a lapse of four years, McDonald’s in the United States has finally put bagels back on the breakfast menu.

Bagels were first introduced to the McDonald’s breakfast menu in late 2019, but were removed when McDonald’s simplified its menu during the pandemic in the spring of 2020. Fans then called on social media for the bagels to return.

A Facebook group called “Where’s My McDonald’s Bagel?” was created, with 25,000 members. McDonald’s has confirmed the return of bagels, but not yet nationwide.

McDonald’s already offers bagels at at least 1,700 of its 14,000 restaurants in the U.S., according to a list updated daily by users of the Facebook group.

When the Daily Mail checked the list in April, the group had 12,000 members and found 1,200 McDonald’s restaurants serving bagels. Comparing the two numbers shows that the number of restaurants serving bagels is growing.

So far, customers in California, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, Iowa, West Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Alabama, and New York (the bagel capital of the United States) have seen the return of the bagel.

McDonald’s breakfast bagels come in four flavors, all featuring eggs and cheese. Three bagels have meat — bacon, sausage or steak — and one has just eggs and cheese.

These sandwiches are served on a toasted, buttered bagel. The Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel Sandwich features a steak, two slices of American cheese, scrambled onions, an egg, and breakfast sauce. The Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich features bacon, an egg, two slices of American cheese, and McDonald’s signature breakfast sauce. The Spanish Omelette Bagel Sandwich features a sausage patty, a slice of pepper jack cheese, a slice of American cheese, an egg, diced green peppers and onions, and is topped with breakfast sauce.

Prices vary by restaurant. A bacon and sausage bagel costs $4.69 at some locations. A steak bagel is more expensive at $5.39.

Fans took to social media site X to cheer on the bagel’s return.

“McDonalds bagels are back… the world is healing,” one customer wrote on X.

“I have officially won my four year war with McDonald’s. Bagels are back,” another customer wrote.

McDonald’s told the Daily Mail on Friday: “Our fans have a long-standing love for McDonald’s breakfast and we’re delighted to see the passion they show for their favourite menu items.”

“While the bagel sandwiches are not available nationwide, they are a regional product and are currently available at McDonald’s in multiple markets.”
