Porsche will start selling an all-electric Cayenne coupe in late summer, marking the latest expansion of its electric vehicle lineup. The Cayenne Coupe Electric will join several other all-electric variants of the SUV when it comes to market later this year, including the base Cayenne Electric, Cayenne S Electric, and Cayenne Turbo Electric.

The Cayenne Coupe Electric features a sloping roofline that distinguishes it from the standard Cayenne Electric SUV, continuing a design trend that has proven popular with consumers. When Porsche introduced a coupe version of its gas-powered Cayenne in 2019, it took just a year for the sportier version to capture 20% of sales within the Cayenne lineup. Five years later, the coupe variant accounts for 40% of Cayenne sales, according to Porsche. In some markets, the coupe accounts for as much as 90% of sales.

The Cayenne Coupe Electric will be offered in three trims: a 435-horsepower base model, a 657-horsepower S trim, and a 1,139-horsepower Turbo variant. These power specifications mirror those of the standard Cayenne Electric lineup. Performance estimates are also identical, with the base trim reaching 60 mph in a claimed 4.5 seconds, the S trim achieving the same in 3.6 seconds, and the Turbo model doing so in just 2.4 seconds.

Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the Cayenne Coupe Electric supports DC fast charging at up to 400 kilowatts, allowing it to go from 10 to 80 percent charge in under 16 minutes. The vehicle includes a NACS port on the driver’s-side rear fender and a traditional J1772 AC charging port on the passenger’s side for Level 2 charging. While the exact EPA-estimated range has not been disclosed, it is expected to exceed 300 miles based on the 108-kWh battery pack shared with the standard Cayenne Electric.

Standard equipment across all trims includes an adaptive two-chamber air suspension, with rear-wheel steering available as an option. The S and Turbo models can be upgraded with Porsche’s Active Ride suspension system, electrohydraulic components, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus for enhanced handling. Like its SUV counterpart, the Cayenne Coupe Electric retains a towing capacity of up to 7,716 pounds.

Porsche has confirmed that the Cayenne Coupe Electric will not replace its gas-powered or hybrid versions of the Cayenne. Instead, it will be sold alongside these variants well beyond 2030, according to a company spokesperson. This approach allows Porsche to gather data on consumer preferences across different powertrain options within the Cayenne coupe segment.

The vehicle will go on sale globally later this year, approximately nine months after the electric Cayenne was first unveiled. Deliveries are set to begin at the end of summer, with prices starting at $116,150 for the base model. This launch continues Porsche’s strategy of offering multiple variants within its electric SUV lineup to cater to diverse customer preferences while maintaining its performance-oriented brand identity.
