Jakarta, CNBC indonesia – On the sidelines of his working visit to the Netherlands, President Prabowo Subianto made a personal pilgrimage to the graves of his maternal grandparents.
The visit took place at the Public Cemetery of Oud Eik En Duinen in The hague, Netherlands, as documented on President Prabowo’s official Instagram account.
“On the sidelines of the official state visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, I took the time to make a pilgrimage to the Public Cemetery of Oud Eik En Duinen in the hague,” Prabowo stated via his official Instagram account @prabowo, on September 26, 2025.
Images show Prabowo,dressed in a black suit and cap,offering prayers at the gravesite.The graves belong to the parents of his mother, Dora Marie Sigar.
Prabowo identified his grandfather as Phillip Frederik Laurens sigar and his grandmother as Cornelie Emilie Sigar, both of whom passed away and were buried in the Netherlands in 1946.
“In this place, reside my mother Dora Marie Sigar’s parents, the late Phillip Frederik Laurens Sigar and the late Cornelie Emilie Sigar, who died and were buried in the Netherlands in 1946,” Prabowo wrote.
This visit occurred during a broader foreign working trip for Prabowo, following engagements in New York and Canada. He met with Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at Huis Ten Bosch Palace in The Hague on Friday,September 26,2025.
