Pratama Arhan Graduates from Udinus with Indonesia’s First Blockchain Diploma

Semarang, Indonesia – Timnas Indonesia footballer Pratama Arhan Alif Rifai has made history as the first graduate in Indonesia to receive a blockchain-based diploma. Arhan received his Bachelor of Management degree from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) during the university’s 87th graduation ceremony on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

The innovative use of blockchain technology guarantees the security and authenticity of the graduation document, marking a significant step forward in academic credentialing in Indonesia. Arhan was one of 402 students graduating from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Law and Global Studies (FHSG), Faculty of Health (FKes), and Faculty of Engineering (FT), as well as postgraduate programs and the Kediri Study Program outside the Main Campus under the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK).

“Alhamdulillah, of course, I am very happy to graduate and receive a blockchain diploma as well, it is something of a pride for me,” Arhan said after the graduation ceremony, as reported by detik.com.

Despite his busy schedule as a professional athlete playing abroad, Arhan successfully completed his studies. He acknowledged the challenges of balancing his commitments to the national team and his club overseas, but praised Udinus for providing flexible online learning options and supportive teammates. “It was difficult to divide my time because I had to go to the National Team, and my team is also abroad. So I had difficulty dividing my time,” he stated, according to detik.com. “But alhamdulillah, Udinus also gave me leeway with online learning. So I felt more at ease. The team was also very supportive.”

Udinus Rector Prof. Dr. Pulung Nurtantio Andono, S.T., M.Kom., encouraged the graduates to continue striving for the future of the nation. “The world of work doesn’t always ask about your GPA, but looks at how much benefit you bring to society. Because the world needs people who are brave enough to dream and work hard,” he said during his address.

Professor Andono also introduced Udinus’s newest facility, the Lifelong Learning Center, designed as a center for continuous learning for all Udinus alumni.

Arhan has already expressed his intention to continue his education, planning to pursue a scholarship for a Master’s degree in Communication Science at Udinus. However, he will prioritize completing his current commitments with his club before returning to his studies.

The graduation ceremony was also notable for the emotional moment when Arhan’s mother’s tears flowed during his speech. According to tvOneNews, Arhan said, “Pak, now I have become a graduate, but you can’t witness it.”

The implementation of blockchain technology for diplomas at Udinus represents a pioneering effort in Indonesia, aiming to enhance the credibility and security of academic credentials.
