The head of the Pratosardo Operators Consortium clarifies his position on upcoming elections and details the consortium’s goals for the industrial area.
Nuoro - the president of the Operators Consortium of Pratosardo, Giampiero Pittora, has addressed rumors surrounding his potential candidacy in the next administrative elections and his role as a spokesperson for a civic list of TYPOSARDO operators.
“I won’t be nominated for the next administrative elections, nor am I the spokesman for a civic list of the operators of TYPOSARDO. Though, if this initiative exists, we will be united in supporting it. This also applies to all the other teams of the political landscape which, if you align with our relaunching programs of the industrial area, are also ready to support,” Pittora said.
Pittora clarified his position amid speculation about his potential involvement in the administrative elections scheduled for June 8 and 9.
While Pittora stated he will not personally seek a City Council seat, he acknowledged the electoral strength of the consortium, which comprises 65 economic operators and is open to new members. He expressed his desire to continue leading the consortium.
“On March 28, we will meet in the assembly called to renew the board,” pittora confirmed.“I have already given the willingness to continue the mandate together with new young people willing to marry the cause. On the agenda, there will also be the possibility of discussing our project to make Pratosardo an energy community. We will analyze the initiatives on the field on renewable energy and sustainability.”
Pittora emphasized the importance of political engagement for the future of the industrial area. He suggested the need for representation within the municipal government.
“In fact, it would be useful to have at least one municipal councilor of reference who can carry on our instant,” he said, “but the ideal would be to be able to count on a department dedicated only to Pratosardo, especially in view of the formalization of the passage of skills desired by the Region to the Municipality. in any case, as happened five years ago, we will propose a public assembly to which we will invite all the candidates for mayor and only after listening to them will we establish what to do.”
Pittora outlined several key issues facing the Pratosardo industrial area that require attention from the next city council. These include challenges hindering the establishment of new businesses.
“Today there is nothing who favors the birth of new companies, and this is due to a series of issues,” pittora stated. “We will certainly submit the request to move the composting center, an unhealthy area. Then the junctions directed by and for the state road 131; Pratosardo,in fact,is the only industrial area of the island that does not have direct access to the main road arteries. Not to mention the railway connections, on which our idea is to focus on the creation of a station directly in Pratosardo, accompanied by services areas. Furthermore, a struggle for the deduction of companies and for the simplification of bureaucracy must be made. The lots cost too much and under current conditions are unmanageable.”
Pittora concluded by expressing hope for a swift transition of responsibilities from the regional government to the municipality, emphasizing the need for progress and growth.
“By virtue of all this, we hope that the transition between the region and the Municipality will be formalized soon. We have been commissioned since 2008, and living in a stalemate like this is no longer thinkable. We want to be the protagonists of a new growth phase that makes the pole attractive for young people, investors, and new entrepreneurships. Pratosardo must be a force that cooperates in synergy with the rest of the city also on the issue of renewable energies. Ours can really become that community that by producing the energy and then selling it to the municipality, can really transform Nuoro into the eco-sustainable city that we all dream of,” Pittora said.
